Closing the Gaps in Postpartum Care—A Collaborative Conversation

Event Spotlight: Closing the Gaps in Postpartum Care—A Collaborative Conversation

At Working for Women, we believe that creating pathways to economic independence for women means addressing the full spectrum of challenges they face—including those that follow childbirth. That’s why we’re proud to share that our Founder and CEO, Beth Bengtson, will be joining a powerful panel of experts for an upcoming webinar:

“Comprehensive Postpartum Care: Closing the Gaps Together”

📅 Wednesday, May 14, 2025 | 11:00 AM EDT

Hosted by ZS’s Women’s Health Expertise Hub, this one-hour virtual event will spotlight the significant care gaps that exist for postpartum mothers in the U.S.—especially those from underserved communities and those returning to the workplace.

According to the CDC, nearly half of maternal health deaths in the U.S. occur between seven days and one year after birth. These sobering statistics highlight the urgent need for change—and the importance of approaching postpartum care as a comprehensive, ongoing process.

What to Expect:

Participants will gain insight into:

  1. What truly comprehensive postpartum care should include—from mental health support and pelvic therapy to lactation services and workplace policies.
  2. The barriers women face in accessing that care, especially marginalized women navigating systemic inequities.
  3. Solutions and strategies from leaders in research, advocacy, healthcare, and business aimed at closing these critical gaps.

Meet the Panel:

  1. Beth Bengtson, Founder & CEO, Working for Women
  2. Meghan Doyle, CEO, Partum Health
  3. Dr. Venice Haynes, United States of Care
  4. Dr. Amanda P. Williams, Interim CMO, March of Dimes
  5. Ailie Reasons, Women’s Health Expertise Hub Lead, ZS
  6. Camille Emma Schilkie, Associate Principal, ZS

This dynamic conversation will bridge advocacy, innovation, and business—offering real-world solutions to support mothers in their recovery, return to work, and long-term health.

Why It Matters to Us:

At Working for Women, our mission centers on economic empowerment, and that mission starts with a foundation of health. If we want women to thrive in the workforce, we must ensure they have access to care that meets their needs—before, during, and especially after childbirth.

This event is an opportunity to deepen your understanding, hear from changemakers, and walk away with actionable insights to support maternal health equity.
