Negotiation Series 2025 Launches with New Format and Expanded Access – Empowering Women to Advocate for Themselves
At Working for Women, we believe that every woman deserves the tools to speak up, ask for more, and step into her full potential. That belief is at the heart of our Negotiation Series, which returned in 2025 with a refreshed format, expanded access, and the same powerful, skills-based content.
This year, the Negotiation Series is open to participants from any of our partner organizations, creating more flexibility and opportunity for women to join throughout the year. Each session equips women with practical negotiation tools they can use immediately—from salary conversations to advocating for better working conditions or taking the next step in their careers.
“Not only does this change open the workshops to all of our partners,” shared Elizabeth Stanley, W4W Programming Director, “it offers more opportunities throughout the year for women to participate.”
Each 2-hour Negotiation Workshop includes strategy-building, role-playing, and small group discussion, providing a supportive space for participants to practice their voice and gain clarity. In alternating months, Negotiation Clinics offer one-on-one support from trained volunteers on a negotiation topic of the participant’s choice—whether that’s prepping for an interview, revisiting a past conversation that didn’t go well, or simply building confidence.
These clinics were introduced in direct response to participant feedback requesting more individualized support—and the results speak volumes.
“Thank you for organizing this workshop on negotiation. I found the breakout room exercise particularly valuable, as it provided an opportunity to engage with the volunteers and gain insights from their personal experiences,” one participant said. “It added depth and practical understanding to the concepts discussed.”
Another shared, “Currently, I’m trying to return to work, and I recognize that my communication skills need improvement. Attending this workshop has made me feel more confident, especially with the new tools I’ve learned for interviews.”
For many, the series is more than just professional development—it’s a catalyst for personal change. One woman summed it up simply:
“I think I’m ready to overcome my fears and start sending out my resume.”
At a time when women—especially those from marginalized communities—continue to face barriers in the workplace, the Negotiation Series is one way Working for Women is helping shift the odds. It’s not just about asking for more. It’s about knowing you deserve it.
Together with our nonprofit and business partners, we’re proud to offer these experiences that create lasting impact—one confident conversation at a time.
This work wouldn’t be possible without our longtime partner and co-creator, ZS—a founding investor in Working for Women—whose continued support and volunteer engagement have helped shape this powerful program from the start.
